It's not easy to find a place so rich in history and unique in its kind. My two-level loft is a former mill. Since the 19th century, rare and precious flours were produced here. This magnificent historic building, over 200 years old, is now a modern residential complex just a few minutes' walk from the Furio Camillo metro station. It is equipped with Wi-Fi, hot-cold air conditioners, washing machine, dishwasher, and a large kitchen area. Close to the metro and direct train from the airport.
Let's start with some key things to know before booking!
The space is divided as follows:
ENTRANCE Enter through a hallway with coat hangers, a bench for changing shoes, and a shoe rack.
LOWER LEVEL On the lower level of the loft, you will immediately find a large kitchen corner equipped with a microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, oven, induction cooktop, and numerous cooking utensils. Dining table and sideboard included.
On the right side, there's a living area with a sofa bed, a faux fireplace, TV, first air conditioner, and a fan.
On the left side, a hallway with an 80-liter water heater and refrigerator.
BATHROOM From the hallway, you access the bathroom with a shower, toilet, sink, bidet, towel rack, and mirror.
UPPER LEVEL From the hallway, climb a wooden and iron staircase to reach the mezzanine. Part of the ceiling here is low, so be careful not to bump your head. The sleeping area is located here, equipped with a double bed, an armchair, a bench, bedside tables, a dresser, a wardrobe, and a second air conditioner.
SURROUNDINGS The Mill is located a short distance from Roma Tuscolana Station, where a direct train to Fiumicino Airport (42 min) stops, as well as the Furio Camillo metro stop.
This area was an important agricultural and industrial zone due to the presence of a significant watercourse called "La Marrana."
Its flow activated numerous industries and mills from the Castelli Romani to the Circus Maximus, eventually ending its journey in the Tiber near the Forum Boarium.
A short walk from the house, you can find Villa Lais park, the Roman aqueduct running along Via del Madrione, and then diving into the Parco degli Acquedotti, as well as the local and typical restaurants of the Casilino and Tuscolano districts.
The Appio-Tuscolano neighborhood is one of the richest in shops and services in the entire city. Near the house is the Happio shopping center, one of the few within the urban area.
With the metro, you can quickly reach all the monuments and points of interest in Rome. GUEST ACCESS Guests will have exclusive access to the entire loft.
IPORTANT DETAILS: To use the parking space, a €200 security deposit pre-approved on a credit card is required, as the area outside the loft is not covered by Airbnb's insurance. No charge will be made unless there are damages to structures or cars in the parking area. It is also necessary to provide copies of the vehicle registration and insurance certificate. Other things to note There are three key things to know before booking my loft:
Additionally, the running water comes through a pump, occasionally the pressure drops for a few miutes before returning to optimal level. The water heater is 80 liters, an Ariston Velis. There's no gas, so all services are powered by electricity. The maximum usage is 6KW, so large appliances cannot be turned on all at once. Internet GSM via unlimited Giga hotspot.
